SMS Notifications Consent
Last updated: June 13, 2026
1Rx lets pharmacies send their patients transactional delivery notifications by text message (SMS). This page describes how consent is collected and how a patient can manage their preferences. Program operated by 1Rx ("1Rx").
How consent is collected (opt-in)
Consent is explicit and collected by the pharmacy, at the point of service, when the patient sets up their deliveries. The staff member records the consent in 1Rx only after the patient has agreed to receive the notifications. Consent is optional: it is never a condition of obtaining a medication or a delivery. Possible collection methods:
- Verbal — in person or by phone.
- Signed paper form.
- Digital or online form.
- Inbound SMS from the patient (the patient texts first).
Each consent is time-stamped and associated with its method and source, for audit purposes (CASL).
Consent text presented
"By agreeing, you consent to receive delivery notification SMS messages from your pharmacy (via 1Rx). Message frequency varies. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for assistance. Terms · Privacy."
